Privacy Policy
Breathe Counselling is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. It applies to our website and to the services we provide.
The information we collect
We collect personal information only to provide mental health services and to communicate with you about your care. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include your name, email address, phone number, and any information you choose to share when you book a session, fill out a contact form, or communicate with us directly.
How we use your information
We use your personal information to book and manage appointments, provide counselling and therapy services, communicate with you about your care, and process payments and insurance billing where applicable. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Health records and booking
All health records and booking data are managed through Jane, a secure booking and practice-management platform that complies with Canadian privacy legislation. Payment information is handled through secure, encrypted systems.
Cookies and website analytics
Our website is built on Squarespace, which places two kinds of cookies on visitors' browsers: necessary cookies so that you can navigate and use key features on our site, and non-essential cookies so we can track analytics and performance. In addition to this, we also track traffic data via Google Analytics. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the official browser add-on available from Google.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request corrections. You may also withdraw consent for us to use your information, subject to legal and professional record-keeping requirements that apply to health services.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, using secure platforms and limiting access to your information to what is necessary to provide your care.
